Friendly service tech, but not trust worthy

Did a quick check up, 10 minutes maybe and my estimate was over 1500! Needs 6 new solenoids, needs new controller, ok fix it. While digging out manifold says he finds line busted; this unit had never been touched! Tech says he didn't do it and it's 250 to repair, told to fix it, to which he rigged some crap up that won't last. So 250 to fix what he broke and 350 for 2 solenoids of which I'm pretty sure only 1 was new and he diagnosed 1 other leak when there was 3 and controller is working fine. Total bill was 607 I really feel like I was ripped off, I don't understand why they feel like they need to be dishonest when we were willing to pay to fix it right. Very disappointed with my choice of repair company.
